The Point sits on its own private estate (or farmland!) of fifty acres. The house is nestled thoughtfully into the hill overlooking the bay and the surf below.
The Point has been farming land for generations. There are two dams on the property next to The Points long grassed lined driveway.
The land has been extensively farmed over the years and subsequently there are very few trees on the land surrounding The Point. It is surrounded by beautiful Tasmanian grasses such as the Poa Grass, giving it a rugged barren feel, adding to its raw beauty.

Location
South Arm Peninsula lies on the east side of the mouth of the River Derwent south of Hobart, Australia. The Point sits at the start of the South Arm Peninsula, just past the suburb of Lauderdale, a quick 20 minute drive from Hobart. If arriving by plane The Point is an easy 20 minute drive from the airport.
The Points boundary joins the coastal reserve on the waters edge, here you can walk around the headlands along the Coastal Track - south to the beautiful beach of Cremorne or north to the small and just as beautiful beach of Mays Beach and further on into Lauderdale, the closest town.
The water below can be accessed from The Coastal Track, and when the surf is working the wave out the front is amazing to surf or watch from the balcony.
As it is just outside Hobart The Point is in the perfect location to be used as a base for day trips - have a look at our Day Trips page for some inspiration!
The town of Lauderdale (5 mins from The Point) has everything you will need for your stay. It has two delis/supermarkets and a bottle shop. The TCM Market in Lauderdale has great ready made salads, delicious ready made meals and fresh fruit, vegetables and meats. Lauderdale also has great coffee and breakfast - our pick is Ventura Cafe. You will pass through Lauderdale on the way to The Point so it is the perfect spot to stop for your provisions.
